In the hallowed halls of horror and exploitation films, Linda Blair is royalty, and she gained that crown at a mere fourteen years old when The Exorcist was unleashed upon the world. For a great deal of people the film is the most terrifying they have seen, and it is led by Linda’s performance, winning you over as the smart and sweet Regan MacNeill and then scaring you to your very core after her possession by the demon Pazuzu. In the ensuing years she continued to endear herself to genre fans with starring roles in Hell Night, Savage Streets, Exorcist II: The Heretic, Chained Heat, Savage Island, Red Heat, and even spoofed The Exorcist alongside comedy genius Leslie Nielsen in the classic Repossessed. She also did a cameo for Wes Craven, playing a reporter in his game changing film Scream.

In 2003, Linda’s lifelong love for animals caused her to establish the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation (www.lindablairworldheart.org). From the website:
“LBWF is an animal and human welfare organization. Our mission is to alleviate suffering, while rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, neglected and abandoned animals. We aid in crisis situations, while educating, encouraging and empowering the public to make a difference in the lives of those whom have no voice.” Linda is not merely a figurehead of this organization, but a hands on participant in the day to day operation. The proceeds she receives from appearances goes directly to running the foundation, so if you get an autograph or take a photo with her, you are helping to save lives!

Whether you are a fan of her films, a fan of animals, or both, Linda has a great deal of work on her resume, and you’ll be able to talk to her about it this October 12-14! Tickets, the full line up (so far), vendor registration forms and more are all available at www.rockandshock.com!
