JUST ANNOUNCED! BILL MOSELEY!

When you think of characters with an enduring legacy in the genre many come to mind, and for convention attendees, the actors that played them are forever associated with those icons of horror. That family of fear has grown large over the years, but there’s a much smaller group as well: actors that have played more than one memorable mayhem manipulator. Let’s go one step farther, shall we? Think about horror actors who have played more than one legendary character…and they were the only actor to play each role. Well, my friends, I am here to say that Bill Moseley stands atop that particular mountain, first having breathed life into Choptop for 1986’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and then Otis Driftwood for Rob Zombie’s first two films, House Of 1,000 Corpses (2003) and its sequel The Devil’s Rejects (2005). He even voiced Otis for 2009’s animated The Haunted World of El Superbeasto and took up the Choptop mantle again for his band Cornbugs. But beyond the movies and music, Bill can also be celebrated for being one of the most fun and fan friendly folks you could find at a convention, and we’re always happy to have him, especially this year as he joins Caroline Williams to celebrate the 30th anniversary of TCM2!

Hi hi hi there, and look who’s coming to Rock and Shock: the one and only Malcolm McDowell! Here is a man whose career in movies, television and even commercials has brought him through every major genre, and along the way he placed himself firmly in our memories. Whether ruling the roost as the lead or stealing the show in a supporting role, whether his films were universally loved or wildly debated, Malcolm’s performances were always held in high regard. Starting with his first film role in 1968’s If…., McDowell built a long and legendary career on films such as O! Lucky Man, Britannia Hospital, Get Crazy, Time After Time, Caligula, Tank Girl, Star Trek: Generations, Gangster No. 1, and his most famous role as Alex DeLarge in A Clockwork Orange. And of course, there was horror, most notably Cat People, Tales From The Crypt, Evilenko, Suck, Excision, Silent Night and Rob Zombie’s Halloween I and II. Currently, Malcolm has worked with Zombie again, playing Father Murder in the new film 31, and he is part of our big 31 reunion! Malcolm McDowell the actor is an icon. Malcolm McDowell the man is funny, engaging and intelligent, and is someone for whom you will hopefully set time aside to meet. And if he is on a Q&A panel, well, those are always gold! Right, right? Right, right.

FIRST LIST OF GUESTS AND BANDS ANNOUNCED FOR ROCK AND SHOCK 2016

0715rs-announce8x11flyer

ROCK AND SHOCK CELEBRATES 13 YEARS OF MUSIC AND MAYHEM!

The Mega Horror Convention by Day, Rock Concert Series by Night Returns to Worcester This October

WORCESTER, MA (July 18th, 2016) – MassConcerts is pleased to announce the first of many celebrity guests and musical acts for the biggest yearly horror and music convention in New England. On October 14th through 16th, Rock and Shock will celebrate their 13th year bringing the best in horror and music to Worcester, MA. The convention features celebrity guests, killer bands, incredible vendors and plenty to do inside the convention. Celebrity guests will appear all three days of the convention unless otherwise noted.

This year, Rock and Shock welcomes fan favorite, Skeet Ulrich who has had a strong career in a variety of genres, starring in movies and television shows such as Law and Order: LA, As Good As It Gets and Jericho, but for horror fans, few have had as impactful a year as he did in 1996. Starting with a breakout performance in The Craft and moving right to a career-solidifying turn as Billy in Wes Craven’s Scream, Skeet established himself as a memorable actor from the very beginning, and we are thrilled that he will be with us for Rock and Shock.

Joining Skeet is fellow Scream partner in crime Matthew Lillard. Avoiding being typecast, Matthew is an actor who is as popular for his roles in movies for kids (Scooby Doo) as he is comedies (Without A Paddle), rom-coms (She’s All That), cult films (Serial Mom, SLC Punk!) and, of course, horror, with his role as Stuart in Scream serving as his first big screen genre role.

Children Of The Corn was one of the scariest movies at the time and Rock and Shock couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Courtney Gaines.  Not only did he give a masterful performance as Malachai in Children Of The Corn, it was also his very first film role. He was an instant horror legend, and after that Courtney cemented his place as an actor with roles in Back To The Future, The ‘Burbs, Seinfeld, Tales From The Crypt, Rob Zombie’s Halloween and so many more.

In addition, Rock and Shock will feature another Children Of The Corn legend. We’re happy to announce that Isaac himself, John Franklin, will be at the show. Not only did John bring a powerful creep factor as the cult leader, but he also added to his horror film cred by playing “Walkabout” Chucky in Child’s Play and Cousin Itt in both The Addams Family and Addams Family Values before returning to the Isaac character for Children of the Corn 666: Isaac’s Return.

Rock and Shock is never complete without an incredible lineup of bands to keep your day going into the night over at the Palladium. For Friday October 14th, the lineup features Trivium, Kataklysm, Carach Angren, and Huntress. On Saturday, October 15th don’t miss Max & Igor Cavalera with their “Return To Roots”, all-star lineup and con highlight, The Rocking Dead and Combichrist.

Finally on Sunday, October 16th, Twiztid return with an incredible support lineup featuring mac Lethal, Lexo Hex Master, Zodiac Mprint, Menace 2 Sobriety, & Godz of Kaos!

Tickets for Rock & Shock 2016 will be available soon at ticketfly.com, FYE stores or at the Palladium box office. There are still plenty of celebrity guest, musical acts and events yet to be announced so make sure to follow Rock & Shock on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and visit rockandshock.com.
